The season arrives not with gentle sleigh bells, but with the deep subterranean rumble of ancient horrors waking from their long, eggnog-induced slumber. Streets glow with festive lights that may or may not be part of a ritual diagram, carolers chant in suspicious harmonies, and gifting season approaches like a shoggoth in a snowstorm.

In the cold expanse of the unfeeling cosmos, we find ourselves at the commencement of another sun cycle. Summoning Cthulhu – Beta Prototype Awakened

After months of testing, tweaking, ritualistic chanting, and one incident involving too many dice and not enough coffee, Summoning Cthulhu has advanced to a full beta prototype.

The playtesting has been overwhelmingly positive—balanced chaos, fast turns, tension spikes, and that perfect blend of “I’ve got this handled” followed by “oh no what have I done.”

We’re investing in a polished beta build now, with the goal of having playable sets ready for the public at TotalCon 40.

TotalCon 40: Our Glorious Return

Good news, cultists and party-game fiends: Dark One Games has once again been unleashed upon TotalCon. Yes, they invited us back. Clearly, the convention is braver than most mortals.

We are thrilled to return with our full table of madness, merriment, and occasionally rule-abiding gameplay. Expect demos, giveaways, unhinged laughter, and at least one person asking, “Wait… why is this die screaming?”

We can’t wait to see everyone there and break in a few games together. If you’re attending, consider this your formal invitation to stop by our booth and risk your sanity with us.

NecronomiCon 2025: Will We Rise?

We’re also aiming our slightly bloodshot eyes at NecronomiCon Providence, hoping to bring Dark One Games into the shadowed halls of Lovecraft’s own domain. But we have chanted into the darkness.

If accepted, we’ll proudly showcase our games, Cthulhu Rises!!, and our new abomination-in-progress Summoning Cthulhu. To a community that will hopefully get all of our references.
